Chapter 19

Strategy (Soren)

Soren listened to some classical music from the Portal, eyes closed as he sat in a comfy chair in a room down the hall. It was a pretty small room with one table, a mirror, cot, rug, and two chairs. The music was soft and sweet and calming. Soren appreciated it and smiled slightly. In his mind, he tried to think of a way to strike back at Sir, coming up with bad ideas. So frustrating. Why couldn’t it just be easier?

What would Jack do? Soren scoffed a bit. He’d run at the forces in the middle of the night with the rebels and with no plan.

Maybe a Cane strategy? He thought back to their brief class about strategy and Cane’s ideas. Definitely not. Possibly use one of Locke’s strategies? Why couldn’t it just be easier? He sighed. This was way too difficult. He buried his face in his hands.

Suddenly a knock came from his door and he frowned, getting up to answer the door. Soren and Ree were outside, looking serious and with his arms around their shoulders to keep him up, was Jack Livcing, looking broken and defeated.
